Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: February 25, 2009 Single Vehicle Fatal Crash in St. Charles Parish On Tuesday, February 24, 2009, Louisiana State Police Troop B investigated a single vehicle fatal crash on U.S. 61 (Airline Hwy) at LA 628 (CC Road) in St. Charles Parish. The crash involved a 2000 Chevrolet Tracker driven by Stephen Fraisse (W/M, 52 yrs) of Laplace. The Chevrolet was traveling northbound on U.S. 61 in the left lane at which time it exited the roadway onto the left shoulder. The driver then overcorrected and swerved to the right crossing the right lane and entering the right shoulder. The Chevrolet then began to rotate counterclockwise at which time it rolled over ejecting the driver onto the roadway. Because of the crash, Mr. Fraisse suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. The front passenger, Janice Fraisse (W/F, 54 yrs) suffered moderate injuries and was transported to River Parishes Hospital. Speed is a factor in the crash and driver impairment is suspected (Results pending a toxicology examination). Mr. Fraisse was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Trooper L.
