Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: December 13, 2008 Fatality Crash Involving a Pedestrian in St. John On Saturday, December 13, 2008, at 6:28 PM, Louisiana State Police Troop B investigated a fatality crash that occurred on LA 637 (West Tenth Street) near Riverside Drive, in Reserve (St. John Parish). The crash involved a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Katie A Singleton (B/F/, 63 yrs) of Reserve, La. and a pedestrian. The Chevrolet was traveling northbound on LA 637 near Riverside Drive. The pedestrian, Jose V. Toledano (W/M, 33 yrs) of Reserve, La. was walking westbound on Riverside Drive approaching the intersection of LA 637. For an unknown reason, Toledano tripped and fell into the path of the Chevrolet. Mr. Toledano suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene. Neither alcohol nor speed appears to be a factor for Driver of the Chevrolet. Impairment is unknown at this time for Mr. Toledano. (Results pending a toxicology examination).
