Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: November 11, 2008 Serious Injury Crash in Plaquemines Parish On Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 7:00 am, Louisiana State Police Troop B investigated a two-vehicle serious injury crash on LA 23 at Plantation Lane. The crash involved a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero driven by Jessica Nguyen (O/F, 19 yrs), of Belle Chasse and a 2004 Chevrolet Pick-up driven by Bruce L. Kennair (W/M, 37 yrs), of Belle Chasse. The Oldsmobile was traveling eastbound on Plantation Lane at which time the driver failed to yield at the intersection of LA 23 and Plantation Lane. The Oldsmobile then entered into the path of the Chevrolet, which was traveling southbound on LA 23 in the right lane. The Oldsmobile was then struck on the driver side door by the Chevrolet pick-up’s front end. The driver of the Oldsmobile, Nguyen suffered critical injuries in the crash and was transported to University Hospital in New Orleans. The 13 yrs old passenger in the Oldsmobile was transported to West Jefferson Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet, Kennair as well as his passengers suffered no injuries in the crash. Neither speed nor driver impairment are suspected factors in the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet was not found at fault in the crash and was not charged. Trooper Skinner is continuing his investigation.
