Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: November 3, 2008 Two Vehicle Fatal Crash in Garyville, St. John Parish On Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 5:35 am, Louisiana State Police Troop B investigated a two vehicle fatal crash on LA 44 (River Rd) near DuPont Road in Garyville, LA. The crash involved a 1993 Ford F-150 pick-up driven by Dwight M. Boe (W/M, 47 yrs), of Laplace, LA and a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Candice A. Singleton (B/F, 26 yrs) of Reserve, LA. The Ford was traveling westbound on LA 44 when it veered into the eastbound lane of LA 44 and struck the Chevrolet that was traveling westbound on LA, head on. Because of the crash, Mr. Boe was transported to St. James Hospital for medical attention. Later in the evening, Mr. Boe was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital where his condition worsened. On Monday, November 3, 2008, Mr. Boe succumbed to his injuries at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet, Singleton was transported to River Parishes Hospital with minor injuries. A passenger in the Chevrolet, Myrtis Singleton was transported to River Parishes Hospital with moderate injuries. Foggy conditions at the time of the crash and Mr. Boe’s speed are considered factors in the crash. Driver impairment is not considered a factor. Neither Mr. Boe nor Ms. Singleton was wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Trooper Brandon Beaudoin is continuing his investigation.
