| NEWS RELEASE LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DATE: April 6, 2008 Single Vehicle Fatal Crash in East Jefferson On Sunday, April 6th, 2008 at 3:30 AM, Louisiana State Police, Troop B investigated a single vehicle fatal crash that occurred on LA 3139 (Earhart Blvd) near Clearview Parkway. The crash involved a 2007 Toyota Scion driven by Mr. Patrick N. Dubroca (W/M, 24 yrs), of Metairie, LA. The Toyota was traveling northbound on LA 3139 in the left lane, well above the posted speed limit, at which time the driver lost control of his vehicle while entering a slight curve in the roadway. The Toyota then slid across the center and left lanes of travel, exiting the roadway. Once the Toyota entered the grassy median it flipped over ejecting the driver onto the roadway. Mr. Dubroca suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. Speed is considered a factor in the crash. Mr. Dubroca was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. It is unknown at this time if driver impairment is a factor. (Results pending a toxicology examination). Trooper Matthew Montgomery is continuing his investigation. | |||
