FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DATE: April 8th, 2008 ****Media Invitation**** Mock Crash/Prom Night Disaster In Louisiana, one out of every ten high school students who are involved in an injury crash dies. This is increased during prom season. On Wednesday, April 9th, 2008 at 09:00 AM the Louisiana State Police in coordination with the St. John the Baptist Sheriffs Office, St. John the Baptist Fire Department and the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission will be conducting a mock crash at Joe Keller Stadium in Laplace for the St. John and St. James High School students. This event is being presented to bring awareness and educate the young adults of the dangers and consequences of drinking and driving. After the event the students will have the opportunity to ask questions and tour the participating department’s equipment. This is a continuing effort conducted by the Louisiana State Police to educate the public and to keep the motoring public safe while traveling on Louisiana Highways.
