Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: October 2nd, 2008 Fatal Crash on U.S. 90 in St. Charles Parish On Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 7:50 am, Louisiana State Police, Troop B investigated a three vehicle fatal crash on U.S. 90 westbound near LA 306 in St. Charles Parish. The crash involved a 2004 Dodge pick-up driven by Steven C. Crochet (W/M, 45 yoa) of Metairie, 2006 Ford van driven by Anthony Hookfin (B/M, 44 yoa) of New Orleans and a 2005 Ford D350 truck driven by Taylor B. Sydnor (W/M, 26 yoa) of Amherst, Va. The Dodge pick-up was traveling eastbound on U.S. 90 near LA 306 at which time the driver lost control of his vehicle and crossed the median entering the westbound left lane of U.S. 90. Once entering the westbound lanes of U.S. 90 the Dodge struck the Ford van, which was traveling westbound in the left lane on the left rear quarter panel. After striking the Ford van, the Dodge continued across the westbound lanes striking the Ford F350 head on in the right lane of U.S 90. As a result of the crash the driver of the Dodge, Mr. Crochet suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the Ford van suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention. The driver of the Ford F350, Sydnor along with the front passenger, Cash A. Unruh (W/M, 26 yoa) suffered moderate injuries and were transported to St. Charles Parish Hospital for medical attention. It is unknown at this time of driver impairment is a factor in the crash.
