Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: June 29th, 2008 Single Vehicle Fatal Crash on LA 3139 On Sunday, June 29th, 2008 at 12:49 AM, Louisiana State Police, Troop B investigated a single vehicle fatal crash on LA 3139 (Earhart Blvd) near Clearview Parkway. The crash involved at 1991 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Mr. Joseph F. Vicknair (W/M, 52 yrs), of Jefferson. The Chevrolet was traveling southbound on LA 3139 at which time it exited the roadway to the left and entered the grassy shoulder. Once on the shoulder, Mr. Vicknair overcorrected his vehicle to the right and lost control. The Chevrolet then rotated clockwise and rolled over striking the right guardrail. As a result of the crash Mr. Vicknair suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. Mr. Vicknair was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Speed is considered a factor in the crash. In addition, driver impairment is suspected. (Results pending a toxicology examination.) Trooper Rodriguez is continuing his investigation.
