Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date October 21, 2009 Child Pornography Arrest in St. Bernard Parish Troop B- On October 14, 2009 Louisiana State Police and St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested Luke Gerkin Jr. (W/M, 43 yrs), 800 E. Josephine St., Chalmette, for possession of child pornography. Detectives conducted a search warrant after they were informed that Mr. Gerkin was downloading pornographic images of minors. During the search, detectives found several DVD’s containing pornographic images of underage children and marijuana. Mr. Gerkin’s home is located across the street from a small neighborhood park in Chalmette. He was booked in the St. Bernard Parish lock-up for possession of child pornography and possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana). The Louisiana State Police continue to investigate crimes that involve the exploitation of children as part of Operation Child Watch.
