Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: May 31, 2010 Two Florida Residents Killed in I-55 Crash Troop B – Today, shortly before 10:00 AM, Louisiana State Police Troop B investigated a fatal crash on I-55 south at the I-10 interchange near LaPlace, Louisiana. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2003 Condor Motor Coach was traveling on I-55 south when, for unknown reasons, it struck the left guardrail and crossed over the left and right lanes. The motor coach then struck the right guardrail and departed the roadway, falling off the elevated portion of I-55 into a marsh area. The driver was identified as Joseph P. Ridgedell (W/M, age 72) of Cantonment, Florida. The passenger, Felisa B. Mullins (W/F, age 68), was also from Cantonment, Florida. Both occupants suffered fatal injuries from the crash. Speed and alcohol are not suspected as factors in the crash, however, toxicology results are pending.
