Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: May 17, 2010 One Person Killed in Head-On Collision on US 90 Troop B – Louisiana State Police, Troop B is investigating a fatal crash in St. Charles Parish that occurred this morning, shortly before 9:00 AM on US 90 at Mozella St. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Mercedes ML350, driven by Onex Stevenson (W/M, age 73) of Metairie, was traveling west on US 90 and, for unknown reasons, crossed the grassy median entering the eastbound lanes of travel. A 2008 Peterbuilt tractor and trailer were in the right lane on US 90 east and the driver, Michael Lupo (W/M, age 29) of Marrero, was unable to avoid the collision with the Mercedes as it entered the right lane. Stevenson was pronounced dead at the scene. Speed and alcohol are not suspected to have been factors in the crash. Toxicology results are pending the autopsy.
