Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: October 18, 2010 Marrero Resident Killed in Crash in Jefferson Parish Troop B – This morning, shortly after 5:00 AM, Louisiana State Police Troop B was notified of a fatal crash that occurred on US 90 and US 90B (mile post 256.1). Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2002 Hyundai Accent, driven by Sean M. Bond (W/M, age 31) of Marrero, LA, was traveling on US 90 west in the right lane. A 1989 Freightliner semi-trailer, driven by Andre Franklin (B/M, age 56) of Westwego, LA, was crossing the westbound lanes of US 90, preparing to turn onto US 90 east. The Hyundai struck the rear of the Freightliner trailer and Bond was transported to the West Jefferson Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Alcohol usage is not suspected for Franklin. Bond’s toxicology results are pending the completion of the autopsy. The crash remains under investigation.
