Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: September 30, 2010 New Orleans Resident Arrested on Accessory to Aggravated Escape of Three Prison Escapees Troop B – On September 28, 2010, detectives from the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations arrested Michael Nash (B/M, age 63) of New Orleans. He was booked into the Orleans Parish Prison for one count of Accessory After the Fact to the crime of Aggravated Escape. On March 30, 2010, three prison inmates escaped from the Avoyelles Parish Correctional Center. After their escape, the three committed numerous felonies in Louisiana and Florida, including a murder and an attempted murder. They were captured on April 12, 2010 by the United States Marshals in Miami, FL. Louisiana State Police detectives were contacted by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office and asked for assistance in the homicide investigation. Through investigation, detectives learned that money was sent by an individual, later identified as Michael Nash, to one the escapees (Quentin M. Truehill, B/M, age 23) in Florida via a wire transfer. Truehill was the only escapee that Nash knew personally. An arrest warrant was obtained and Nash was booked on the above listed charges.
