Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: September 16, 2010 $134,000 Fraudulent Insurance Claim Leads to Arrest Troop B – Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations Insurance Fraud / Auto Theft Unit was contacted by Travelers Insurance in reference to a possible fraudulent insurance claim totaling $134,000. The investigation revealed that Judith Hubbard (W/F, age 46) of New Orleans, LA, contacted ASF-Standard Fire Insurance Company and Travelers Insurance and reported that items such as, antiques, art pieces and jewelry were stolen from her residence during a burglary. The investigation also showed that Hubbard provided the insurance companies with an altered New Orleans Police Department report. Investigators found that Hubbard allegedly turned over the antiques, art pieces and jewelry to an auction house in New Orleans in April 2008. An arrest warrant for Hubbard was issued in Orleans Parish. On September 15, 2010 Hubbard was located, arrested and charged with insurance fraud and forgery for altering the police report. She was booked at Orleans Parish Prison.
