Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP L- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: January 6, 2010 One Vehicle Fatality in St. Bernard Parish Troop B – On Wednesday, January 06, 2010, at approximately 12:20 PM, the Louisiana State Police Troop B was notified of a fatal crash on LA 300 (Bayou Road) east at Creedmore Drive in St. Bernard Parish. Preliminary investigation revealed a 2001 Dodge Intrepid, driven by Lucille R. Franz (W/F, age 76) of Chalmette, was traveling east on LA 300 approaching Creedmore Drive. The driver was unable to negotiate a curve to the right and ran off the left side of the roadway. The Dodge then struck a steep embankment where it came to rest. Franz was pronounced deceased on the scene. Speed and impairment are not suspected to be factors of the crash; however toxicology and autopsy results are pending.
