TROOP N NEWS RELEASE Traffic Stop Leads to Multiple Arrests for Drugs and Stolen Gun New Orleans – On the morning of May 11, 2019, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop N conducted a traffic stop which resulted in the arrest of two adults and a juvenile. All three subjects were arrested for multiple charges related to possession of narcotics and a stolen weapon. The initial investigation began at approximately 4:45 am when Troopers stopped the driver of a Chevrolet Avalanche for a traffic violation at Baronne St. at Canal St. As the occupants of the vehicle exited, the driver (a 16-year-old juvenile male) purposely locked the keys inside the vehicle. Troopers were denied consent to search the vehicle, but were obtained a search warrant to do so. Upon searching the vehicle, Troopers located a stolen Taurus PT92 9mm handgun, approximately 5 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a Glock 26 9mm handgun. The juvenile driver, 18-year-old Arianna Santamaria of New Orleans, and 23-year-old Brendyn Tran of Harvey were all placed under arrest for LRS 14:69.1 Possession of a Stolen Firearm, LRS 40:966 Possession of Marijuana, and LRS 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The juvenile was transported to and booked into the New Orleans Juvenile Detention Center. Santamaria and Tran were transported to and booked into the Orleans Parish Prison.
