New Orleans Man Arrested for Selling Fraudulent Temp Tags |
TROOP B NEWS RELEASE April 4, 2019 New Orleans Man Arrested for Selling Fraudulent Temp Tags Orleans Parish – On April 1, 2019, Detectives with the Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Unit – New Orleans Field Office arrested a New Orleans man for selling fraudulent vehicle temporary tags. 24-year-old Craig Kennedy was arrested for various charges relating to forgery after he sold fake temp tags to LSP Investigators.
During the preliminary investigation, Investigators were able to purchase five fraudulent temporary tags from a male subject in Metairie. After the purchase, Investigators identified the subject as Kennedy. Furthermore, Investigators found Kennedy in possession of three additional fraudulent temporary tags and five fraudulent motor vehicle inspection stickers. Investigators also located a sticker making machine for manufacturing the fraudulent inspection stickers.
As a result of the investigation, Kennedy was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for 8 counts of LRS 14:72 – Forgery and 5 counts of LRS 14:72.6 - Forgery of a Motor Vehicle Inspection Certificate.
