TROOP B NEWS RELEASE Troopers Investigate Fatal Crash in Jefferson Parish Marrero – On Friday August 16, 2019 shortly before 2:30 PM, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop B responded to a single vehicle fatal crash on LA 3134 near Pelican Bay Blvd. in Jefferson Parish. The crash has claimed the life of 58-year-old Dwayne Williams of New Orleans. The initial investigation led Troopers to determine that the crash occurred as Williams was driving a 2010 Nissan Titan southbound on LA 3134 in the left lane at a high rate of speed. Williams’ vehicle traveled off the roadway to the left and crash into a tree in the median. Despite being properly restrained, Williams sustained severe injuries in the crash. He was transported to an area hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. As part of the ongoing investigation, blood samples were collected for analysis. Troopers would like to remind motorists of the importance of safe decisions behind the wheel. Please take a moment to speak with your loved ones about the importance of their safe decisions.
