TROOP B - NEWS RELEASE February 11, 2015 Speeding Causes Fatal Crash on Des Allemands Bridge St. Charles Parish – Last night, at approximately 8:15 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop B was notified of a fatal crash on US 90 near LA 632. The crash claimed the life of 32 year-old, Wesley Price of Des Allemands, LA. Preliminary investigation revealed that Price was driving a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on US 90 at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle struck the right curb of the bridge and Price was ejected. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Impairment is unknown and toxicology results are pending an autopsy. Price was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The crash remains under investigation. According to the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, speeding directly contributed to nearly 40 fatalities in 2013. Motorists should pay attention to speed limits and only travel at the posted speed limit when safe to do so, keeping in mind weather and road conditions.
