Bourbon Street Brawl Suspects Apprehended
Following Swift Multi-Agency Investigation

UPDATE: Enrique Alvarado turned himself into police on Monday, February 9, 2015. He was charged with Disturbing the Peace by Fighting and Criminal Trespassing.

New Orleans, LA – As a result of an aggressive multi-agency investigative effort, four suspects involved in the February 1st Bourbon Street altercation have been identified as members of the “New Boyz” group, leading to the arrest of three of the four suspects this morning. The altercation took place in the early hours of Sunday morning in front of Bourbon Heat, located at 711 Bourbon Street in New Orleans, LA. A collaborative effort between Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations, New Orleans Police Department, LASAFE Fusion Center, Louisiana Probation and Parole, and Jefferson Parish Criminal Intelligence Center obtained information related to the “New Boyz” and further discovered the group was planning a second altercation during the weekend of February 5-7, 2015.

“The residents and visitors of the French Quarter and entire New Orleans metropolitan area deserve to live and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the city without fear of criminal activity and senseless violence as displayed by the members of this criminal group,” said Colonel Mike Edmonson, State Police Superintendent. “As we begin the Carnival season, these arrests should serve as a warning to those choosing to engage in criminal activity that this type of behavior will not be tolerated and justice will be swift.”

"Our detectives worked this case aggressively from the start and with the partnership of the Louisiana State Police we were able to make quick arrests. Our message to criminals is clear. If you choose to commit violent crime, we will find you and we will bring you to justice,” said Chief Harrison, New Orleans Police Department.

"The East Jefferson District Probation and Parole Office was happy to assist in the investigation," said Pam Laborde, Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections Communications Director. "Law enforcement collaborations like this one, with input from the public, lead to improved public safety and that's what is most important."

This morning, detectives from the LSP Bureau of Investigations and LA Probation and Parole arrested three of the identified subjects at a residence in Kenner, LA. An arrest warrant is still outstanding for Enrique Alvarado, also known as Kique Wolf Alvarado.
