Troopers Rescue Human Trafficking Victim
During Weekend Enforcement Detail

Orleans Parish – A multi-agency Human Trafficking/Prostitution detail throughout the New Orleans Metropolitan Area has led to the discovery and rescue of a 17 year old female classified as a juvenile under trafficking laws and the arrest of a New Orleans resident on charges of Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes. The arrest and rescue were made possible through the combined investigative efforts of the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigations, New Orleans Police Department, and Kenner Police Department.

On Friday, May 29, 2015, law enforcement officials identified a 17 year old juvenile that was being advertised for sexual purposes. During an interview, detectives determined that the juvenile was being “pimped” by 26 year-old James Muse of New Orleans, LA. Muse was located and booked into the Orleans Parish Jail without incident.

“Louisiana State Police has continued to work with our law enforcement partners and each time we combine efforts, we see results,” said Colonel Mike Edmonson, Louisiana State Police Superintendent. “Troopers have been supplementing the New Orleans Police Department in and around the French Quarter and we have seen a decrease in crime. We will continue to combine efforts because we know it has an enormous effect on the quality of life in our communities.”
