TROOP B - NEWS RELEASE August 15, 2014 Troop B Seeks Public’s Assistance in Hit and Run Crash in Plaquemines Parish Plaquemines Parish – This morning, shortly before 4:00 am, Louisiana State Police Troop B was notified of a hit and run fatal crash that occurred on LA 11 at East Buccaran Road, which is north of the Empire Bridge. 39 year old Michael Czolowski of Buras, LA was a pedestrian that was killed in the crash. Preliminary investigation revealed that Czolowski was walking south in the southbound lane of LA 11 at East Buccaran Road. A vehicle struck Czolowski and fled the scene. Impairment is suspected for Czolowski. Troop B is requesting assistance from the public in identifying the vehicle that fled the scene. At this time, the possible make and model of the vehicle is not known. Anyone with information is urged to contact Troop B at (504) 471-2775. The crash remains under investigation.
