TROOP B - NEWS RELEASE May 14, 2014 Office of Motor Vehicles Employee Arrested for Theft St. Bernard Parish – This morning, Louisiana State Police Detectives assigned to the Bureau of Investigations arrested Juanita Rainey (W/F, age 50) of Slidell, LA, for Felony Theft and Malfeasance in Office. Rainey was an employee of the Office of Motor Vehicles in Chalmette, LA. The investigation began after detectives received information relating to suspected criminal activity at the OMV Chalmette office. The investigation revealed that Rainey pocketed over $500 worth of fees paid by customers for insurance violations. She would then utilize state computers to alter the fee amounts owed by customers to show a zero balance. An arrest warrant was obtained and Rainey was booked into the St. Bernard Parish Correctional Center. The investigation is on-going and additional charges may be forthcoming.
