TROOP B NEWS RELEASE February 3, 2017 Four Men Arrested for Aggravated Kidnapping St. John the Baptist Parish – On February 2, 2017, LSP Investigators arrested four individuals for charges related to the kidnapping of a Lafayette man. The initial incident began on the night of February 1st when the victim was taken hostage by several unknown assailants in the Thibodaux, LA area. The victim was brought to a residence in Thibodaux where he was restrained, held against his will, and beaten overnight. On February 2nd, the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office became aware of the kidnapping. Deputies immediately began an investigation in an attempt to locate the victim and the assailants. Through investigative measures, Investigators were able to locate a possible residence where the victim was being held. Deputies and members of Louisiana State Police SWAT conducted surveillance on the residence, and observed a group of men outside. The group of men left the residence in separate vehicles, and were followed by Investigators. While attempting to perform traffic stops on the suspect vehicles, the vehicles fled. Officers pursued the vehicles, and were able to detain four subjects, as well as locate the victim. As a result of the investigation, LSP Investigators placed the four subjects under arrest. They were charged with Aggravated Kidnapping. The following subjects were booked into the St. John the Baptist Parish jail in Laplace:
· Jordan A. Jackson (B/M, 26 yoa from Schriever, LA) · Daron D. Nolan (B/M, 21 yoa from Thibodaux, LA) · Herbert L. Woolens (B/M, 19 yoa from Monroe, LA) This case remains ongoing, and further arrests are anticipated. The Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division (New Orleans and Hammond offices) were assisted in this investigation by the Louisiana State Police Special Investigations Unit, Louisiana State Police SWAT and the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office.
