TROOP B NEWS RELEASE April 02, 2018 Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on LA 52 in St. Charles Parish Boutte- At approximately 12:03 AM on Monday, April 02, 2018, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop B responded to a fatal motorcycle crash on LA 52 near Luling St. in Boutte. The crash has claimed the life of 49-year-old Waggaman resident Evelina Davis Diggs. The initial investigation led crash scene investigators to determine that the crash occurred as Diggs was riding a 2016 Can Am Spyder [three-wheel motorcycle] north on LA 52 near Luling St. For reasons still under investigation, Diggs’ vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and crashed head-on with a 2014 Toyota Camry, driven by 26-year-old Dajahl Novian White of Ama, LA. Despite wearing a DOT approved helmet, Diggs sustained severe injuries in the crash. She was pronounced deceased on-scene by the St. Charles Parish Coroner’s Office. White and his front seat passenger, 24-year-old Anashia Lebeauf of Ama, were both properly restrained at the time of the crash. They were transported to St. Charles Hospital and treated for minor injuries. As part of the ongoing investigation, blood samples were collected and will be sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. Please take a moment to speak with your loved ones about the importance of their safe decisions behind the wheel. Remind them to always wear a seatbelt, never drive impaired, and to avoid distractions. The conversation could be the difference in a serious crash. Contact Information: | |||
