TROOP B NEWS RELEASE November 27, 2017 Bourbon Street Bouncer Arrested for Impersonation of a Police Officer Orleans Parish – On November 26, 2017, at approximately 11:30 pm, Louisiana State Police arrested 39 year old Wayne Lozier Jr. of New Orleans, LA, after securing an arrest warrant through Orleans Parish. The arrest warrant was for Aggravated Battery and False Personation of a Police Officer. The arrest warrant followed an incident that Troopers responded to on November 25, 2017 at approximately 3:00 am in the 700 block of Bourbon Street. Troopers, while on foot patrol, observed a male subject being chased on foot by another male, later identified as Lozier, wearing tactical pants, a gun belt with a Glock handgun and a tactical ballistic vest bearing yellow lettering “State Agent” on the front and back of the vest. Troopers assisted in the apprehension of the male subject and while Troopers were handcuffing the subject, Lozier approached and tased him with a X26 taser. Further investigation revealed that Lozier was not a law enforcement officer and was employed as a security guard working the front door of a Bourbon Street bar. An arrest warrant was secured for Lozier and he turned himself into Troopers. He was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
