Two Arrests Made for Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes Following 2015 Investigation

Orleans Parish – On July 21, 2016, Louisiana State Police Detectives assigned to the Bureau of Investigations Special Victims Unit arrested 35 year old Tara Guidry of Lafayette, LA on charges of Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes and Money Laundering. Another suspect, 31 year old Jenaris Brown of Lafayette, LA is being held in the Lafayette Corrections Center awaiting extradition to Orleans Parish on charges of Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes, Money Laundering and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.

The arrests were made from warrants that were issued in Orleans Parish in February 2016 that followed an investigation where a 17 year old juvenile was rescued after being trafficked for sexual purposes. The investigation began in November 2015 after Detectives received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the missing juvenile. Through investigative methods, Detectives located the juvenile in New Orleans and identified the two suspects. The suspects were operating a commercial sex enterprise and exploited the juvenile for commercial sexual purposes. The juvenile was rescued on November 4, 2015.
