TROOP B - NEWS RELEASE Two Illegal Aliens Arrested for Running Sex Brothel in New Orleans Orleans Parish – Louisiana State Police Detectives assigned to the Bureau of Investigations Special Victims Unit conducted an investigation into an illegal brothel and unlicensed bar in the City of New Orleans. As a result of the investigation, 39 year old Roxana Flores-Rodriguez of El Salvador and 36 year old Jose Jaimes-Meza of Mexico were arrested and booked on multiple charges. Both suspects are illegal aliens. The investigation began in August 2015 after LSP Detectives received information from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office related to narcotics distribution. Through investigative methods, LSP Detectives and Homeland Security Investigations Agents (HSI) found that Rodriguez and Meza were operating a brothel and unlicensed bar at 2523 N. Claiborne Avenue in New Orleans, LA. In August 2015, a search of the residence yielded one Hispanic sex worker. Detectives also found evidence indicating the brothel had been operating since at least May 2015 and serviced the local Hispanic community. Detectives believe that at least 10 other sex workers were rotated in and out of the brothel since May 2015. Illicit cash proceeds from the brothel were used to operate the N. Claiborne Avenue residence/brothel. On September 3, 2016, arrest warrants for both suspects were signed in Orleans Parish. LSP, HSI and the US Marshall’s Service executed the arrest warrants in Metairie on September 6, 2016. Both suspects were charged with Promoting Prostitution, Pandering, Money Laundering and Operation of Places of Prostitution. They were booked into the Orleans Parish Jail. "The disruption of human trafficking and the apprehension of responsible offenders will remain a priority for Louisiana State Police", said Colonel Mike Edmonson, Louisiana State Police Superintendent. “Every rescued victim is not just a statistic, but a family reunited, a life saved, and a community made safer."
