Unrestrained Driver Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

Baton Rouge – Louisiana State Police Troop A investigated a single-vehicle crash last night that claimed the life of a young Clinton woman. The crash occurred on LA 37 north of Liberty Road in East Baton Rouge Parish shortly before 2:00 am.

Troopers’ preliminary investigation revealed that Angela Robinson (B/F, age 18) of Clinton was driving her 2006 Suzuki Reno north on LA 37 when she lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road to the right. The vehicle traveled through the ditch and struck a tree. Robinson, who was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash, sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased on the scene by the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s office. Troopers do not suspect alcohol to have been a factor in this crash; however, a sample of Robinson’s blood has been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis.

Troopers remind motorists to buckle up EVERY time they get into a vehicle. Wearing a seat belt gives vehicle occupants the best chance of survival during a violent crash. Seat belts not only prevent ejection, but also protect the neck and spine from serious injuries. State law requires that everyone in the vehicle wear a seat belt, regardless of seating position.

BUCKLE UP…SEAT BELTS SAVE LIVES!!!
