| TROOP A NEWS RELEASE March 3, 2017 Baton Rouge Man Killed in Head-On Crash in East Baton Rouge Parish Baton Rouge, LA – Shortly before 10:00 am on March 2, 2017, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a two vehicle fatality crash on LA 73 south of Tiger Bend in East Baton Rouge Parish. The crash took the life of a 64 year old William Alford of Baton Rouge, LA. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Alford was traveling southbound on LA 73 in a 2007 Ford F-150. At the same time, 52 year old David Anderson of Prairieville, LA was traveling northbound on LA 73 in a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. For unknown reasons, Alford’s vehicle crossed the center line into the northbound lane of LA 73 and collided head-on with Anderson’s vehicle. Alford was properly restrained but sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Anderson was also properly restrained at the time of the crash and sustained moderate injuries. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, but a toxicology sample will be taken from both drivers for analysis. Contact Information: | |||
