Multi-Agency Investigation Leads to Arrest of Jackson Couple

Jackson – Troopers assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division arrested an East Feliciana Sheriff’s Deputy and his wife, a Jackson Town Deputy Marshal, today following an investigation into an alleged theft while on the job. The investigation was initiated following a request by Jackson Town Marshal Fred Allen and through cooperation with the Town Marshal’s Office and East Feliciana Sheriff’s Office.

Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division received a request from Marshal Allen to investigate an allegation that a computer and other property had been stolen from a vehicle that was stopped by two of his Deputy Marshals and an East Feliciana Sheriff's Deputy. The vehicle was impounded after the driver was stopped and arrested. Marshal Allen reported that the arrest occurred on March 19, 2011, but new information regarding the location of the computer was recently brought to his attention. Using this information, State Police Detectives obtained a search warrant for the home of Sidney Wayne Floyd (W/M, age 43) of Jackson, an East Feliciana Sheriff's Deputy, and his wife, Adina Floyd (W/F, age 38) of Jackson, a part-time Deputy Marshal with the Jackson Town Marshal's Office. State Police Detectives located the stolen computer at their residence during the execution of the search warrant. Further investigation revealed that Sidney and Adina Floyd were on the scene of the traffic stop on March 19. They were left to inventory the vehicle’s contents and wait for a wrecker to arrive while another Jackson Deputy Marshal transported the driver to the parish prison for processing.

Troopers questioned Sidney and Adina Floyd at Louisiana State Police Headquarters and then transported them to the East Feliciana Parish Prison. At the prison, they were booked on charges of Theft, Illegal Possession of Stolen Things, and Malfeasance in Office. The Jackson Marshal's Office and The East Feliciana Sheriff's Department assisted with the investigation.
