Interstate 10 Crash Leaves Port Allen Woman Seriously Injured Prairieville – Louisiana State Police, Troop A investigated a two-vehicle serious injury crash on Interstate 10 in Ascension Parish this morning shortly before 8:00 am. Troopers’ preliminary investigation revealed Tammy Taylor (W/F, age 42) of Port Allen was driving a 2009 Honda Civic east on I-10 near milepost 170 when she ran off the roadway to the left and into the median. The Civic began to rotate counter-clockwise, slid through the median, and entered the inside westbound lane into the on-coming path of a 2004 Honda Pilot. The Pilot, being driven by Linda Morgan (W/F, age 53) of Metairie, struck the driver’s side door of the Civic. Taylor was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital by Acadian Ambulance with life-threatening injuries. Morgan sustained minor injuries in the crash and was treated on the scene. Troopers do not suspect alcohol to have played a factor in the crash. However, they have submitted a sample of Taylor’s blood to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis. Morgan voluntarily submitted a breath sample to Troopers, which showed that she had no detectable alcohol in her system. Troopers do not know what caused Taylor to run off the road and the crash remains under investigation.
