Troopers Recover 45 Pounds of Marijuana During Traffic Stop Baton Rouge – Troopers arrested two Alabama men yesterday following a traffic stop on Interstate 10 in West Baton Rouge Parish. At approximately 5:00 am on Thursday, March 10, Troopers stopped a 2011 Toyota Rav-4 for a traffic violation on I-10 eastbound west of LA 415 at milepost 148. During the traffic stop, the State Police K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed forty-five pounds of marijuana and over twenty-two thousand dollars bundled with the marijuana. Troopers arrested the driver, Johnny Stevenson (B/M, age 31) of Marion, Al, and his passenger James Avery (B/M, age 49) of Newbern, AL on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
