Ascension Man Arrested for Indoor Marijuana Grow Operation Prairieville – On June 14th, 2011, Louisiana State Police troopers working in partnership with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, the Gonzales City Police Department and the DEA Taskforce served a search warrant on a residence in Prairieville related to a suspected indoor marijuana grow operation. The search resulted in the arrest of Albert Carroll (47y/o of Prairieville) on various drug related charges. Narcotics agents received information regarding the suspected drug operation and immediately began an investigation. The investigation revealed Carroll to be in possession of forty-nine (49) marijuana plants, three (3) firearms, and equipment used to cultivate marijuana. Carroll was growing the marijuana plants in a 12ft by 12ft room built in the attic of his residence. The room was accessed through a hidden stairwell built in a bedroom closet. The evidence seized from Carroll’s residence will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. The estimated street value for the seized marijuana plants is approximately $49,000. Each plant has the potential to produce about (1) pound of marijuana. Troopers arrested Carroll and booked him into the Ascension Parish Prison on charges of cultivation of marijuana, possession of a firearm with marijuana, and simple possession of marijuana. **Pictures To Follow In 2nd Email** Contact Information: | |||
