| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE State Police to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint Baton Rouge – Louisiana State Police Troop A, in cooperation with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in East Baton Rouge Parish tonight. Troopers and Wildlife Agents will be working together in an effort to keep impaired drivers off our roadways and ensure the motoring public’s safety. Every year on the roadways across the state, thousands of people are killed and seriously injured because of impaired drivers. Sobriety checkpoints are effective enforcement tools because they serve as a deterrent to impaired driving. Not allowing impaired drivers to get behind the wheel and reporting possible impaired drivers to local police stations save lives. The public is strongly encouraged to share in the responsibility of keeping impaired drivers from getting behind the wheel. To report dangerous drivers or hazardous roadway conditions, call *LSP (*577) from your cell phone. Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment! Drive Impaired, Go To Jail!!
