Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE Hit and Run Leaves Young Man Seriously Injured, Troopers Looking for Answers Watson – Louisiana State Police Troop A investigated a hit and run crash last night that left a Denham Springs man with serious injuries. The crash occurred on LA 16 near Wildwood Road in Livingston Parish sometime between 10:00 pm and 10:30 pm. Troopers are still looking for answers and seeking any information from the public that may lead to a suspect. Troopers’ preliminary investigation revealed that Justin Beck (W/M, age 17) of Denham Springs was walking his bicycle along the shoulder of LA 16 near Wildwood Road when he was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle traveling north on LA 16. Beck was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital with serious injuries. Troopers were unable to determine what type of vehicle was involved in the crash, but do know that the vehicle will have damage to the right front portion. The front bumper, hood, right fender, and right front quarter panel of the vehicle are all areas where possible damage may have occurred. Troopers urge anyone with ANY information to contact Troop A at (225) 754-8500. No piece of information should be considered insignificant, as Troopers will follow all leads in an effort to bring this case to closure and get answers for Beck’s family and friends.
