| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent Troop A – News Release
Livingston Parish Crash Claims Life of Franklinton Man Livingston – Louisiana State Police, Troop A investigated a fatal crash on LA 16 south of LA 1022 in Livingston Parish shortly after 9:00 am this morning. Troopers’ preliminary investigation revealed that Johnny London (B/M, age 53) of Denham Springs was driving a 2008 Ford F-250 north on LA 16 when he swerved left across the centerline to avoid rear-ending a vehicle that had come to a stop in front of him. At the same time, Hientz Taylor, Sr (W/M, age 51) of Franklinton was driving a 1988 Chevrolet pickup south on LA 16 when London swerved into his lane. Taylor took evasive action in an attempt to avoid the collision, but the vehicles struck head-on on the southbound shoulder of LA 16. After impact, both pickups came to rest in the ditch along the west edge of the roadway. Hientz Taylor was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office. His passenger, Donna Taylor (W/F, age 48) of Franklinton, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital by Acadian Ambulance Air Med. London sustained minor injuries and was treated on the scene. Alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor in the crash. However, Troopers have submitted a sample of Taylor’s blood to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis. London voluntarily submitted a breath sample to Troopers, which showed that he had no detectable alcohol in his system. No charges have been filed at this time, and the crash remains under investigation. Contact Information: TFC Russell G.
