TROOP A NEWS RELEASE October 28, 2013 Vehicle Sought in East Baton Rouge Parish Hit-and-Run Crash Baton Rouge – Shortly before 2:15 pm on October 28, 2013, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a hit-and-run injury crash that occurred on LA Hwy 73 (Jefferson Hwy.) south of Tiger Bend Rd. in East Baton Rouge Parish. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that a Toyota Avalon was traveling northbound on LA Hwy 73 south of Tiger Bend Rd. when it was struck in the rear by a silver newer model full-size Chevrolet pickup truck. The crash caused minor injuries to the driver of the Avalon. The driver of the silver Chevrolet failed to stop at the scene, and continued traveling north on LA Hwy 73. The driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck was a white male and had a cast on his arm. He was also accompanied by a white female passenger. The Chevrolet pickup truck will possibly have minor damage to the front end. Troopers urge anyone with any information to please contact Louisiana State Police Troop A at 225-754-8500, or their local law enforcement agency. They may also contact Crime Stoppers at 225-344-STOP. No piece of information should be considered insignificant. Troopers will follow all leads in an effort to bring this case to a close.
