TROOP A NEWS RELEASE August 13, 2013 Traffic Stop for Speeding Violation Leads to Arrest of Wanted Individuals Baton Rouge – Around 1:00 am on August 13, 2013, TFC S. Simpson of Troop A stopped a vehicle on Florida Blvd. at Monterrey Blvd. in Baton Rouge for a speeding violation. TFC Simpson checked the ID of the driver (26 year old Thomas A. White of Baton Rouge) and found that he was under suspension and had an active warrant for Failing to Appear in East Baton Rouge Court. The front seat passenger had no ID and had an open container of alcohol. Through investigative efforts, TFC Simpson learned that the passenger (29 year old Montrell D. Sanders of Baton Rouge) was wanted by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding warrant for Two Counts of Attempted First Degree Murder and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property. Both subjects were placed under arrest and taken into custody without incident. They were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail. TFC Simpson was assisted in the arrest by TFC C. Anderson and two Baton Rouge City Police Officers. The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division was contacted about the arrest. Contact Information: | |||
