TROOP A NEWS RELEASE August 27, 2013 Baton Rouge Man Meets Trooper for Second Time as He is Arrested for Road Rage Incident Baton Rouge – On August 27, 2013, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop “A” placed 25 year old Mark D. Rogillio of Baton Rouge under arrest for a road rage incident which occurred in East Baton Rouge Parish. Shortly before 5:30 pm, an on-duty State Trooper was traveling home in a fully marked State Police unit. The Trooper observed a vehicle driving erratically on Essen Ln. near I-12 and made a traffic stop on the I-12 e/b entrance ramp. While speaking to the driver of the vehicle which he had just pulled over, the Trooper was approached by another driver. That driver stopped to speak to the Trooper, and stated that an individual in a Toyota Solara had just pointed a gun at him near where the Trooper was located. The Trooper immediately ceased his traffic stop and attempted to locate the suspect vehicle. He was able to locate and stop the Solara as it exited I-12 at Airline Hwy. Upon further investigation it was determined that the driver of the Solara (Rogillio) had in fact pointed a Taurus 9mm pistol at the complainant due to the fact that “he was late for work” and “did not want the complainant getting in front of him.” The Trooper also found an UZI .22 cal pistol in Rogillio’s vehicle. Rogillio was placed under arrest by the Trooper and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for LRS 14:37 – Aggravated Assault. Ironically, Rogillio was arrested by the same Trooper in July of 2012 for driving while intoxicated and speeding in Baton Rouge. Louisiana State Troopers will remain dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of the people in the state. Louisiana State Police would like to remind the public to drive safely and exercise extra patience on the roads, especially during the upcoming Labor Day holiday. Motorists that witness hazardous or dangerous situations are urged to call *LSP (*577) and report that activity to the Louisiana State Police. Contact Information: | |||
