Troopers Support “Polar Plunge” for Special Olympics Louisiana

Every year, Louisiana State Police is a proud supporter of Special Olympics Louisiana. On Saturday, February 22, Troopers will be “Freezin’ for a Reason” as Cabela’s will host a “
Polar Plunge” to help raise money to support Special Olympics programs. State Troopers along with local law enforcement and first responder agencies will be on-hand at this event to support the families and participants of this year’s plunge.

The “Polar Plunge” will be held on Saturday, February 22 at 9:00 am at the Gonzales Cabela’s located on LA 30 near I-10. Individual or team registration begins at 8:00 am, and costumes are encouraged. This will be a fun-filled event and Troopers are hoping for a large turnout. Registration for the “Polar Plunge” can be completed online at www.laso.org/polarplunge. Additional information regarding ways the public can support Special Olympics Louisiana can also be found at this website.

Please come out to the Gonzales Cabela’s on Saturday, February 22 and support this worthy cause. With over 13,500 Special Olympics participants in Louisiana alone, this organization brings hope and happiness to tens of thousands of family members, friends, and most importantly to those participating. Special Olympics Louisiana relies upon the generosity of corporate and individual donations, civic groups, foundation grants and special events such as the “Polar Plunge” to fund programs.
