| TROOP A NEWS RELEASE October 29, 2012 Medical Condition Suspected in East Feliciana Parish Crash Clinton, LA- This afternoon shortly before 1:00 pm, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred on LA 19 at LA 955 in East Feliciana Parish. Troopers’ preliminary investigation revealed that the crash occurred as a 2008 Chevrolet pickup, driven 57 year old Gerald Hussey of Zachary, LA, was traveling north on LA 19 when he suffered an apparent fatal medical condition. The vehicle drifted to the left across the opposite lane of travel and ran off the road before coming to rest in a ditch. Witnesses stated that the driver of the vehicle took no evasive action prior to running off the road. The East Feliciana Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced Hussey deceased on the scene. Hussey was not wearing a seatbelt; however, initial examination did not reveal any injuries as a result of the crash. Troopers do not suspect impairment to be a factor in the crash.
