| TROOP A NEWS RELEASE October 26, 2012 Troopers Seize Narcotics, Arrest Multiple Suspects Following Interstate Traffic Stop Grosse Tete, LA- Following a mid-morning traffic stop on Interstate 10 near the LA Hwy 77 exit, Louisiana State Police Troopers patrolling the Troop A region discovered 7 kilos of cocaine resulting in the arrest of three suspects on drug charges. The traffic stop occurred shortly after 10:00am this morning after Troopers observed a traffic violation committed by two vehicles traveling together eastbound on Interstate 10. As Troopers made contact with the vehicles, a 2003 Honda Accord driven by 42 year old Belinda Ware of Phenix City, AL and a 2004 Ford pickup driven by 41 year old Anthony Kimbrough of Columbus, GA, they obtained consent from each driver for a search of the vehicles resulting in the narcotics seizure. Both drivers and an additional passenger in the Ford pickup, 51 year old Christopher Cherry of Columbus, GA, were placed under arrest and subsequently booked into the Iberville Parish Jail. The estimated street value of the 7 kilos is over $140,000.
