| TROOP A NEWS RELEASE August 29, 2016 Montpelier Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash in Livingston Parish Livingston Parish – Shortly before 2:00 pm on August 29, 2016, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single vehicle fatality crash on LA 40 east of LA 43 in Livingston Parish. The crash took the life of 51 year old Kevin Zeno of Montpelier, LA. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Zeno was traveling westbound on LA 40 in a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. For unknown reasons, Zeno’s vehicle crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the roadway. Zeno’s vehicle entered a ditch and began to overturn. The roof of Zeno’s vehicle struck the edge of a private driveway was causing severe damage to the vehicle. Zeno was properly restrained but suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Zeno was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash but a toxicology sample will be taken from Zeno for analysis. Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists that while not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that the chances of surviving a crash rise significantly when properly restrained. Making good choices while in motor vehicles such as never driving while impaired, always ensuring every occupant is properly restrained, and avoiding all distractions can often mean the difference between life and death.
