Yesterday afternoon, at the conclusion of a judge trial, theHonorable Rhonda Goode-Douglas found the defendant guilty as charged ofVehicular Homicide. The defendant was under the influence of cocaine andmarijuana when he struck and killed DOTD/MAPP worker Eric Anthony, Jr., onSeptember 24, 2024, in New Orleans. The arrest was made by the Louisiana StatePolice. “Great work by Louisiana State Police and my prosecutors in New Orleans.Eric Anthony was a young father who was simply doing his job, helping a driverchange a tire on the side of the road. My prayers are with his family, youngchild, and DOTD colleagues,” said Attorney General Liz Murrill. The defendant will be sentenced on August 14,2026. The range is 5 to 30 years. |
