338 2025-09-11 AG Murrill's Office arrests Thibodaux man for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material

Agents with Attorney General Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrested a man from Thibodaux on September 10, 2025.

22-year-old Russell Antoine Varmall Jr., of North 7th Street in Thibodaux, was arrested for two counts of:

  • LA RS 14:81.1E(5)(a) Child Sexual Abuse Material (Under the age of 13 years old) (Felony)

Varmall was arrested on the campus of Nicholls State University.

Agents initially got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which kickstarted their investigation.

This arrest resulted from a joint investigation by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation and Nicholls State University Police.

Varmall Jr. was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex.

His bond has reportedly been set at $70,000.
