240 2025-02-19 Attorney General Liz Murrill gives update on lawsuit against Biden Era attempt to categorize ‘Gender Dysphoria’ and ‘Transgenderism’ as a Disability and threatens loss of federal funding

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill issued an update to a lawsuit she joined back in September 2024 with 16 other attorneys general challenging an unlawful Biden administration rule that would redefine ‘gender dysphoria’ as a disability and allow the federal government to withhold funds for those with disabilities from anyone who disagree with the rule.

"I support Section 504 protections for people with disabilities. We are actively seeking a resolution with the Trump administration that would withdraw these rules while still protecting The Americans with Disabilities Act’s traditional coverage and interpretation,” said Attorney General Liz Murrill.

The Biden administration’s rule would threaten federal funding for disabled Louisianans and take away healthcare options for those covered by Medicaid if Louisiana did not comply with its radical agenda.

The State of Texas led the lawsuit.
